LAWRENCE, PA, USA, SANTIAGO, CHILE and SAO PAULO, BRASIL (August 19, 2010) – Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best-of-breed technology for the television broadcast and mobile media industries, and Continental Lensa/Continental Eletrônica do Brasil, high quality manufacturers and providers of radio transmission equipment announce that the companies have reached an agreement that will result in them joining together to manufacture, sell, and support a complete line of high performance television transmitters and related equipment in South and Central America. The transmitters will be based on the industry-leading technology from Axcera, but will be manufactured, sold and supported by the Continental companies from their two facilities in Santiago, Chile, and Sao Paulo, Brasil. The television transmitter products will carry the “Axcera Continental” brand, reflecting the merging of strengths of the companies.
The initial showcase of the Axcera Continental products will occur at the SET 2010 Broadcast & Cable show in Sao Paulo, Brasil from August 25-27, 2010. A full range of products will be offered, from the low power Innovator CX series (which includes low delay, echo cancelling gap fillers) to the liquid-cooled, solid state 6X Series transmitters. All Latin American analog and digital television standards are supported including ISDB-Tb, DVB-T, and ATSC.
